Overcoming CoDependancy

Codependency is not something to be happy about. It's not something to ignore either. I know this.. I know it from personal experience. You see, from the time I was a teenager, I displayed codependent behaviors without fully understanding what it was. I've since abandoned many of those behaviors and I'm doing much better.

What about you or the person you're thinking of right now?

Are they codependent? Can you afford not to stop and consider it? Not sure about the symptoms? No problem. Here are a few:

• Clinginess

• Being controlling.

• "Stirring the pot" or being a "drama queen".

• Inability to make decisions.

• Needing someone around constantly to feel at ease.

• Low self esteem.

• Doing stuff you don't want to just to please others.

• Seeking praise constantly.

• Placing blame for your feelings or actions on others.

• Compulsive lying.

Codependency is pretty common and it's not something that should be ignored. Since I have an intimate understanding of the condition, I felt it would be beneficial to others to share what I know about it.
